What on earth has happened on slideshare?
In between the decks about SEO, the future of brands and 243 chart monsters on Marketing 2.0, there are loads of these...what should we call them? They're the ppt equivalent of a Hallmark/Clinton Card. Just randomly trawl through the site and you'll find your own examples.
I have no idea of the proportion of total uploads, but if you look at the most favourited there are significant numbers of these non-business related decks. And there appears to be a fan community of enthusiastic individuals eager to comment and favourite them.
How long has this been going on? Why have I missed it? I must visit slideshare at least a couple of times a week (to look at decks about SEO, the future of brands...you get the picture) and I've not come across this before. This just might be as significant a cultural trend as the fixie and keyboard cat. Put together.
